Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids significantly reduce the risk of sudden complications that can be fatal, caused by Arrhythmias and/or other causes associated with coronary heart disease. Omega-3 fatty acids are also used to treat Hyperlipidemia and Hypertension. No significant interactions with other drugs have been reported.

Also, the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends at least two doses of 1000mg of Coenzyme Q10 per week for people who do not have heart problems, for prevention, while in people with established heart problems, the recommendation is 1000mg per day, which is also the dose of Mintmedic Omega-3 + Q10 Cardioprotect.

Why is Omega-3 supplementation needed?

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids. Essential acids cannot be synthesized in the body, so they have to be taken subsequently through food.

How do Omega-3 fatty acids affect the body?

They are building blocks of cell membranes, or coating the nerves. They are necessary for proper growth and normal body functions at all ages. However, the greatest application is in the field of cardiovascular health and brain functions. In addition, it contributes to metabolic function, has an anti-inflammatory effect, affects joint health or even mood itself.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has approved the following health statements regarding the use of Omega-3.

DHA –contributes to maintaining normal triglyceride levels, as well as normal brain development.

Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) combined with Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) contribute maintaining of the normal blood pressure and triglyceride levels, as well as normal heart function.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a powerful antioxidant directly responsible for creating potential energy in our cells. It is found naturally in the human body, but after the age of 30, its level significantly decreases, which, as shown in many studies, has an impact on the weakening of heart rate. Apart from the fact that the level of this essential antioxidant decreases after the age of 30, it has been proven that it may decrease very rapidly, in some cases over 80%.

It is not common knowledge that, when this antioxidant was discovered in 1974 by Japanese scientists, it had the status of a medicine in that country. Due to decades of use as a natural substance, without side effects, this antioxidant that can be found in our Mintmedic Omega 3 + Q10, is considered very safe to use.

This dietary supplement is also used in patients who use Cholesterol reducing therapy since it leads to a deficiency of Coenzyme Q10. Therefore, a routine use of this supplement with Statin therapy drugs (such as – Cholipam, Hollesta, Simvor, Vasilip, Zocor, Atoris, Sortis, Tulip, Lescol) is advised.

Other clinical effects have been confirmed, as follows:

– reducing the risk of Atherosclerosis, also known as “hardening of the arteries “, and narrowing of blood vessels,

– positive effect on Heart Rhythm Disorders – Arrhythmias,

– strengthening the weakened heart muscle, increasing the strength of the heart contraction,

– reducing the risk of developing and having Angina Pectoris and/or Heart Attack,

– reducing the risk in heart surgeries (bypass, heart valve replacement etc.)

Normally, doses of 30 mg per day are used, but in case of severe exhaustion of the heart muscle, doses of 100 mg per day can also be included. Since Coenzyme Q10 is a natural component of the human body, its use is therefore safe.

If there is a significant deficiency of Coenzyme Q10 in the body, visible positive changes are manifested immediately after taking it, because even a small increase in the efficiency of the heart muscle is easily noticeable. While in the case of a small deficiency of Coenzyme Q10, the visible effects are manifested within the period of 3-4 months.

Coenzyme Q10 used as a dietary supplement and does not reduce the production of this substrate in the body, as is the case with Cholesterol. Thus, the intake of Coenzyme Q10 increases the concentration of this nutrient in the blood, which is produced less with age. Coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) is a fat-soluble, therefore it is the best to use from the Oil supplements such as Fish Oil Omega-3.
